Network Installation
- InstallShield Wizard will open.
- "ZeraWare User Agreement" window will open. Please read. If you agree to the terms of the license agreement, click "Yes." If you do not agree, stop the installation process.
- "Custom Information Window" will open. If installing ZeraWare on a network (2 or more computers using the same database), choose "Custom."
- "Set Up Type Wizard" window opens with two choices:
- Complete
- Custom - click "Custom" to install ZeraWare on a network.
- "Choose destination locations" window opens. The program default location for ZeraWare will be the "C" Drive/Programs file. If this is suitable to you, click "OK."
- "Select Features" window opens with three choices:
- Full Install
- Client only
- Database - click here to install ZeraWare on a network.
- "Installing Microsoft SQL 2005 Set Up " window opens.
- "InstallShield Wizard Complete" window opens. Click your choice for completing the install:
- Restart your computer now - Click here to finish the install (preferred).
- Restart your computer later.
- Your computer is rebooted now or later.
- "ZeraWare database is about to be initialized" window opens. Click "OK."
- A window will open informing you when the database initialization process is finished.
- The next step is to install ZeraWare on each computer that will share the database.
- Copy the ZeraWare install program (set up.exe) to a file or CD. Install ZeraWare on each network computer.
- The "ZeraWare Install Shield Wizard" window will appear. Follow the installation prompts.
- The "Set Up Type Wizard" window will appear. Click "Custom."
- The "Choose Destination Location" window will open. Click the default "OK."
- The "Select Features" window will open. Click "Client Only."
- "ZeraWare is configuring your new software" window will open.
- An "Installation Complete" window will inform you when the installation is finished.
- A small window may appear asking for the server name. Enter the computer name where the data base engine is located, back slash, zeraware.
To integrate ZeraWare to work with an existing SQL Server computer: - Follow the "Client Only" installation directions.
- After ZeraWare has been installed, locate the sqlscript.sql file, which gets installed into the ZeraWare home directory (i.e. C:/programfiles/zeraware).
- This SQL script will create the database, user account, and populate the database
with the initial data needed to run the program.
- Make any modifications needed regarding the location of the data and log files. Then run the file from Query Analyzer or an equivalent SQ interpreter.
- Run ZeraWare on the Client computer and enter the database server name into the "Database Configuration" window when it appears.
